Today Miss Fender's first graders celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day! They talked about his kindness towards people, plants, and animals. They also talked about how an apple tree grows from a seed to tree. The class finished their day by making a prediction, tasting apples, and finding out which color of apple the class liked the best.

A junior high cross country team member's parent sent in the photo pictured below and shared these encouraging words:
"I can only speak as a parent, but I wanted to share this picture I snapped yesterday at West Salem’s XC meet. This has become the group’s pre-run ritual and it usually consists of a prayer and encouragement. With all the events that have happened recently in the world and even in our own school, there is hope for brighter days ahead.
We are so thankful for all you do for our kids, our school, and in our community. Let this be a reminder that there is still good, even when things get heavy. We are Clay City Strong 💪🏼 💙"
