Clay City cross country teams had a great day yesterday! In addition to our high school co-op team placing second at Lawrenceville, our junior high boys placed second as a team at Newton last night as well. Way to go runners!

There has been a change in the pre-k class schedule. There will be NO pre-k on Friday, September 12. They make up the missed day on Friday, September 26. We apologize for any inconvenience.

‼️ATTENTION PRE-K PARENTS‼️ There has been a chance in the pre-k class schedule. There will be NO pre-k on Friday, September 12. They WILL HAVE class on Friday, September 26 to make up for missing on the 12th. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Mrs. Ahlfield's third graders went on a virtual field trip to Maine. They were able to tour a lobster plant. They learned how lobsters are caught, measured to check for keeping, and how to band their claws. They also learned what each claw is used for, and how they are stored before shipping to the store. Thank you to Mike at Inland Lobster in Eastport Maine!

This week Mr. Brummer’s biology class has been in the lab working with microscopes. Students made wet mount slides of their cheek cells, an onion, and creek water. Everyone was most excited about finding living microscopic organisms in the creek water.

A new school year means reviewing and teaching important information! Today, transportation director Matt Lindeman is reviewing bus evacuation procedure with the students. As seen below, a high school group finished their drill then stuck around to help the pre-k students while another high school group helped second graders unload following their bus drill.

Students and faculty had a hat day on August 22 to raise money for former school nurse Alechia Roosevelt as she battles illness. The student body and faculty then gathered together to pose for a photo in their hats with a giant "get well" banner for Miss Alechia. Clay City CUSD 10 wishes nothing but the best for Miss Alechia!
