Clubs set up decorated tables to pass out candy and were then judged. The Best Club Table winner was FFA! Congratulations!



Mrs. Ahlfield's third graders wrote spooky stories for Halloween and some enjoyed presenting to the class. We have some talented and creative writers!

Junior High students have been having fun playing with Legos during activity period. If anyone would like to donate Legos to our collection, we would be thankful. Donations can be dropped off at the High School office during school hours.

Miss Fender's first graders and Mrs. Klein's second graders were sure to wear red today to celebrate Red Ribbon Week!

Miss Fender's first graders had a bubble party! Students were rewarded a bubble party because of their awesome job following directions!

Here are our winners from the 4-H Coloring Contest! Posing with elementary principal Mr. Wattles are Heather Peterson (2nd grade), Mason Uebinger (Kindergarten), and Arias Workman (5th grade). The contest was presented by the Clay County Illinois Extension Office along with the 4-H Federation Kids. Great work kids!

Fourth and fifth graders were given the opportunity to create pumpkins for judging. The students were challenged to create a pumpkin without using a foam, plastic, or real pumpkin. These kids got creative! Today they presented to their classes. Check out their awesome work and be sure to come back to see who the winner is!



NEXT WEEK::: In honor of our veterans, Clay City Schools will hold a Veterans Day breakfast and assembly. All veterans and their families are invited to join the festivities on Wednesday, November 6. Clay City Elementary & Junior High has the following years available for purchase: 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024. Clay City High School has 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 available.

Clay City Schools held a pep assembly yesterday to recognize some of our fall athletes and academic successes! The CCJH Cross Country team and our two NC/CC high school volleyball players were recognized for all their hard work throughout their season. Additionally, students who are performing well on Aimsweb were acknowledged. Clay City Schools has much to be proud of when it comes to its students!
