The Clay City CUSD #10 Board of Education has decided that school will be closed April 8, 2024. This is the day of the solar eclipse and we want to make sure that we are doing what we can to protect the safety of our students and staff. Based upon guidance from state and local emergency officials the board believes that closure is our best option to keep everyone safe.

Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) Information The IAR is a computer-based standardized assessment for all students in Grades 3 - 8 that is designed to measure students’ progress toward the the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics, as well as the Standards for Mathematical Practices. IAR was created to replace the PARCC test, and it is shorter in length. Clay City students will take the IAR on the following dates. Jr High IAR - week of March 19 Elementary IAR - week of April 9 IAR make up - week of April 15 Science assessment for grades 5,8,11 - April 22 - 24 More information English Language Arts Grade 3 : 2 tests (75 minutes each) Grades 4 - 8: 2 tests (90 minutes each) Mathematics Grades 3 - 8: 3 tests (60 minutes each)
