Envirothon Results

Clay City High School participated in the regional Envirothon competition hosted by Land Use Council #13 on March 11. The Illinois Envirothon is part of a continental environmental competition for high school students. Envirothon is a unique approach to educating high school students about the natural world around them.

The participating schools have teams made up of five students who work together to take written tests. The students are learning about the areas of aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife and a current environmental issue, which changes each year.

Clay City Team 1 placed first in Clay County out of the five Clay County teams that participated, and placed 10th overall out of 28 teams from seven counties. The team members of Clay City Team 1 were Elliot Kessler, Keegan Sullens, Beth Norton, Ellie Hagen, and Keidra Kuenstler.
